King Cake ... an entree into baking
The French call it a brioche and my bubby would call it a kuchen. For some strange reason, the person who wrote the wikipedia entry thinks it's a coffee cake.
At the behest of a couple of buddies, I made a non-dairy king cake. Using the dough recipe from my dad, the filling from here and the glaze from here, I present to you my first King Cake. It's attractive, but that's no guarantee it won't taste like sawdust.
